Mod Type Crafting
Tinker's Construct is a mod that introduces a different way of crafting tools and weapons, by casting individual pieces using patterns and molds, then piecing together your tools in whatever combination you like. There are additional materials that can add bonuses to your tools after they have been made. This mod also introduces the Smeltery, a multi-block structure for melting metals and pouring them into molds for further crafting.

This version of Tinker's Construct consists of 'leveling up' equipment through use and modular parts, allowing you to replace a pick axe head with an alternative material if, for example, you ran out of copper. It also adds a tab to add Traveller's Gear to your character, which can have various enhancements added.

In Blightfall, the basics of this mod are illustrated in the "Tutorials, please!" questline with the Instructor. Note: You eventually earn 20 Mission Outlook and the "Tools and Modifiers" (T) book if you complete the tutorial. The "I Need No Tutorials!" awards 18 Reputation and the "Materials - Classic Tools and Weapons" (IV) book.

Tinkers' Construct Modifiers Edit

There are a few differences between traditional and Blightfall Tinkers' Construct:

  • Modifier slots must be earned through use of the tool.
  • Diamond & Emerald modifications do not improve mining level.
  • Moss is only available through Thaumcraft infusion (ingredients also require Botania).
  • Silky requires an emerald block and gold or aluminum brass ingots vs. a single emerald and nuggets. With Blightfall Ore Generation, it's probably best to use gold.
  • Flux modifier requires two slots.

Tinkers' Construct Materials Edit

Below is a chart of the various materials and their statistics for ease of reference.

  • M = Mining Level (0=Soft Non-Metal; 2=Soft Metal; 4=Diamond; 5=Supra-Diamond; 6=Alien; 7=Extreme; 8=Epic)
  • Spd = Speed; Dur = Durability; HMod = Handle Modifier
  • Mass/Draw/Break/Launch are arrow-specific values.
  • SNM = Soft Non-Metal; HNM = Hard Non-Metal; HM = Hard Metal, etc.
